The FP BSEU team represented Belarus at the International Commercial Arbitration Competition named after. William S. Vis

Every year in Hong Kong the Eastern Competition in International Commercial Arbitration is held. William C. Vis (Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot).

This event has been held in China for 21 years and is the largest and most prestigious competition in the world for international commercial arbitration. More than 140 teams from 89 jurisdictions take part in this event each year.

In 2024, for the first time in the competition, the Republic of Belarus was represented by a team from the Faculty of Law of the Belarusian State Economic University.

The team included a 3rd year full-time education student at the Faculty of Law, Ekaterina Aleksandrovna Borodavkina, and a 4th year full-time education student at the Faculty of Law, Alexey Sergeevich Grekov.

Program of the Eastern Competition in International Commercial Arbitration named after. U. Vis includes simulated court hearings in which students act as attorneys for the parties and present positions after preparing legal documents.

Participation in the competition allows you to increase the level of professional training of a student of the specialty "Jurisprudence", develop skills in preparing legal documents and skills in resolving disputes between republican and foreign business entities, deepen knowledge in the field of international private law, as well as expand the practical skills and abilities acquired at the university in order to their further application in the professional sphere.

This practice makes it possible to train personnel for the legal departments of Belarusian enterprises that carry out foreign economic activities.
