The results of the student scientific and practical conference "Cultural journey: opening new horizons"

On March 25, 2024, a student scientific and practical conference "Cultural Journey" was held at the site of the public reception of the NGO "Belaya Rus": the discovery of new horizons."

The initiator of the conference was Anastasia Velisevich, lecturer of the Department of Intercultural Economic Communication at the Faculty of International Business Communications, member of the Council of Young Scientists. The management of the faculty, represented by Dean Yulia Shavruk, provided all possible assistance and support to the young teacher.

The participants – students of BSEU and Voronezh State University (spoke online) – presented reports in Russian, Belarusian, English and French on the cultural peculiarities of various peoples of the world. The jury consisted of Svetlana Vladimirovna Leonenko, chairman of the Zavodskoy district organization of the NGO "Belaya Rus" in Minsk, Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of BSEU Oleg Gennadievich Kazak, university students.

Professors of the Faculty of International Business Communications Angel Mujica and Zhang Haizhong addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, who spoke about the cultural traditions of their homeland – Venezuela and China, respectively.

After discussing the relevant and creative performances of the participants, the jury determined the winners. The first place was taken by Ksenia Bobysh, a 1st year student of the Faculty of Digital Economics, whose report (in English) was devoted to the influence of Jewish cuisine on Belarusian dishes. The diploma of the II degree was won by the 2nd year student of the Faculty of Finance and Banking Angelina Peshko, who made a report on the fate of her great-grandfather, the hero of the Great Patriotic War Fedor Bortnik. The third place was awarded to 2nd year students of the Faculty of International Business Communications Maria Voluyevich and Olga Macherko for the report in English "Why everyone should visit Belarus".

In conclusion, the organizers of the conference and the audience expressed gratitude to all the speakers for interesting presentations, the management and teachers of the Faculty of International Business Communications for the original idea of the event, and the management of the NGO "Belaya Rus" for financial and organizational assistance in its holding.
