BSEU first-year students met with a representative of the Investigative Committee

On September 9, as part of the "Freshman Month", a meeting of students with Stanislav Aleksandrovich Popkov, senior investigator of the Investigative Committee of the Zavodskoy District Department, took place at BSEU.
The main topic of discussion was fraud, phishing and other forms of cybercrime that pose a serious threat in the context of the rapid development of digital technologies. Stanislav Aleksandrovich spoke in detail about modern Internet fraud schemes that are actively used by intruders to gain access to personal information and financial data of citizens.
Particular attention was paid to phishing attacks - one of the most common methods of fraud on the Internet. The investigator explained how to distinguish fake sites and letters from real ones, what signs should alert the user and what actions should be taken if an attempt at fraud is suspected.
The meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue. Students asked questions, were interested in real cases from investigative practice and received specific recommendations on how to protect their data.
At the end of the meeting, Stanislav Aleksandrovich addressed the students with an important reminder: he emphasized that everyone should think about their actions and their consequences. In the digital environment, where any action can have serious consequences, it is especially important to be attentive, think critically and not succumb to provocations. He called on students to develop legal literacy and awareness, because this is the basis of personal security and mature civic behavior.
