BSEU debuted in the international GREEN ranking and became the best among universities in Belarus

For the first time, the Belarusian State Economic University entered and took first place in the national segment of the international UI GreenMetric World University Ranking, becoming the leader among higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus. The ranking has been published annually by the University of Indonesia since 2010 and includes about 1,745 universities from 105 countries.

1,745 universities from 105 countries participated in the 2025 ranking, including 11 Belarusian universities, including the Belarusian State Economic University, which ranked 1st in the national ranking and 840th in the world.

This outstanding achievement was made possible by the dedicated teamwork of the university staff. The University's System Analysis Center has carried out extensive work on the collection, analysis and preparation of documentation confirming the high level of environmental responsibility of the institution. A major role in the success of the project was played by Vice-rector Vladimir Olegovich Ermakov, head of the library Tamara Aleksandrovna Zhbankova, head of the Center for Coordination of the educational process Olga Stanislavovna Romanova, Dean of the Faculty of Marketing and Logistics Svetlana Nikolaevna Lapina and Head of the Department of Marketing Vadim Sergeevich Golik, Head of the Department of Organizational and Technical Support of Digital Infrastructure Azat Meretgeldievich Annaev.

The rating is assessed based on a number of key criteria, including campus infrastructure, energy efficiency, water resources management, transport logistics, educational programs and research projects aimed at promoting the ideas of sustainable development and a green economy.

By occupying a leading position in the national ranking, BSEU demonstrates its commitment to the principles of environmental sustainability and responsible attitude towards environmental conservation. This success confirms the effectiveness of the implementation of the National Action Plan for the development of the "green" Economy of Belarus for the period 2021-2025, and also testifies to the high level of training of future specialists with the necessary competencies in the field of ecology and sustainable development.

The recognition received will allow the university to actively develop international cooperation, share best practices and stimulate further initiatives to protect the environment. Thus, the successes of the BSEU serve as an example of effective interaction between science, education and practice to build a sustainable future for our planet.
