Balancing Career and Family: The Journey of a BSEU Teacher

Olga Aleksandrovna Romanovich is an assistant professor in the Department of Accounting, Analysis, and Audit in Industry and a group mentor. She actively participates in university life, combines teaching with raising three children, and demonstrates from her own experience that harmony between career and family is possible.
"The teaching profession is a unique blend of personal development, inspiring communication, and a real contribution to the future," notes Olga Aleksandrovna. It was this intrinsic motivation that became the starting point for her professional journey.
In working with students, Olga Aleksandrovna values not only the process of knowledge transfer but also the opportunity to observe how young people develop a genuine interest in research: "The most valuable thing is to see how a student begins to formulate scientific hypotheses and defend them with compelling arguments." Such discoveries are only possible in an atmosphere of trust, so it is important to her that everyone feels supported and can realize their potential. It is no coincidence that her teaching motto is, "A teacher's success lies in the progress of their students."
For Olga Alexandrovna, mentoring isn't a formality, but an opportunity to be close to her students. She focuses on three areas: helping them adapt to the educational process, supporting them in difficult situations, and developing a value system that becomes the foundation for their future profession. This approach makes mentoring meaningful and valuable.
Her main source of inspiration is seeing the results of her efforts, whether in her professional life or in life. "The feeling of satisfaction from successfully completing a task, from helping others achieve their goals, from the knowledge that my contribution has made a real difference—that's what motivates and energizes me," the teacher says.
For Olga Alexandrovna, not only professional development is important, but also preserving family values, as she sees this as the foundation of sustainable success:
"Balancing work and family is always a challenge, but also a huge incentive. The key is to prioritize and find a balance between research, teaching, and family. And, of course, without the support of my family and colleagues, none of this would be possible!"
Her experience working with students and her own family example convince her of the importance of instilling kindness, honesty, respect, and responsibility in children. Equally important are independence, self-confidence, and openness to new experiences—qualities that help them move forward boldly and not fear change.
