Science in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Seminar at BSEU

On January 20, a seminar entitled "Science in the Era of Artificial Intelligence" was held as part of Belarusian Science Week. It provided a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences among specialists from various fields, who discussed the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on education, science, and society.
The key topics of the seminar concerned trust in generative AI and the philosophical aspects of its application; the practical use of AI systems in teaching; the synthesis of devices for recognizing Boolean functions; the potential of AI in the educational process in Belarus; the experience of using generative AI in higher education; and the theoretical and practical prospects of artificial intelligence tools.
Seminar participants included:

- Anna Mikhailovna Zenevich, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Informatics, PhD in Economics;
- Andrey Maksimovich Sedun, Professor of the Department of Economic Informatics, PhD in Engineering;
- Olga Vitalievna Bodakova, Head of the Department of Theory and History of Law, Faculty of Law, BSEU, PhD in Law;
- Dmitry Arkadyevich Oskin, Senior Lecturer, Department of Management and Economics, Higher School, Russian Institute of Higher Schools;
- Liya Valentinovna Serebryanaya, Head of the Department of Economic Informatics, PhD in Engineering;
- Nikolay Petrovich Belyatsky, Head of the Department of Organization and Management, Doctor of Economics, Professor
The seminar confirmed that artificial intelligence has the potential to significantly expand the capabilities of science and education, but requires a careful approach.
